玉米生物逆境分子生物学和功能基因组学研究；抗虫/耐除草剂转基因植物培育
主要从事玉米功能基因组学和分子设计育种研究。先后主持国家自然科学基金、国家转基因专项6项；参加国家重点研发计划、973计划、863计划、国家支撑计划、转基因专项等课题7项。 获得授权专利10项；发表科研论文60多篇，其中SCI论文20多篇；指导研究生30多名（博士8人）。
